VEILS OF SKY
Veils of Sky, das sind - wie Wolken - im musikalischen Kontext die Obertöne und all die Töne jenseits des einen Tons, aka des blauen Himmels.

Die Wolken also als die Töne um den einen Ton herum. Der blaue Himmel: der eine Ton.
Welcher aber ist es, der eine Ton? Hier, auf der Fujara ist es der Grundton, sogar eine Oktave unterhalb des »offiziellen« Registers.
But which is it, this single note? Here, on the Fujara, it is the fundamental, even an octave below the ‘official’ register.
What is depicted is the relationship of this single note to all the others. And in order to recognise the latter as veils, it ultimately comes down to attunement. In French, this is called harmonisation.
Abgebildet wird das Verhältnis dieses einen Tons zu all den anderen. Und um die letzteren als Schleier zu erkennen, geht es also schließlich um eine Einstimmung. Auf Französisch heißt das harmonisation.
Und Harmonisierung ist sicher mitgedacht, aber auch Vorbereitung. Und Partizipation: in den Gesang einstimmen. Sich einstimmen, also auch das Intonieren des Orchesters. Hier besteht das »Orchester« aus mehreren Flöten, zwei Tenor- und zwei Baßflöten.
And harmonisation is certainly taken into consideration, but so is preparation. And participation: join in the singing. Tuning oneself in, which also includes the orchestra’s intonation. Here, the ‘orchestra’ consists of several flutes, two tenor and two bass recorders.
Tuning in. What is present in it: the voice, the One, a vibration. Several voices come together. A singing-in. Les harmonics, the overtones, are part of it. Attunement, it includes adjusting the pitch. Until everything is in tune. A dance around the one tone.
Einstimmung. Was darin vorkommt: die Stimme, das Eine, eine Schwingung. Mehrere Stimmen finden zusammen. Ein Einsingen. Les harmonics, die Obertöne sind Teil davon. Im Englischen heißt Einstimmung attunement, das beinhaltet auch das Stimmen von Instrumenten. Bis alles stimmt. Ein Tanz um den Ton herum.
Oder auch der eine Punkt, übereinandergeschichtet, aber ohne Raum einzunehmen.
Or also the one point, layered one upon the other, yet without taking up any space.
In other words, you peel away one layer, then the next, and so on, and wonder why it never ends.
The fujara puts this full stop. It is just a single note, but how many other notes lie behind it, beside it, above it, all at the same time – as if behind a curtain – and can therefore also be heard?
And objects – that is, the other notes – are therefore welcome until everything is just right. So there are also lines, chains of notes.
Das heißt, man nimmt eine Schicht ab, dann die nächste und immer so weiter und wundert sich, dass es kein Ende nimmt.
Die Fujara setzt den Punkt. Es ist bloß ein Ton, aber wieviele andere Töne sind dahinter, daneben, darüber und gleichzeitig, wie hinter einem Vorhang, also außerdem zu hören?
Und Objekte, d.h. die anderen Töne, sind demnach willkommen, bis alles stimmt. Es gibt also auch Linien, Ketten von Tönen.

And objects are allowed.
Wie gesagt, im Mittelpunkt steht die Fujara, ein Volksmusik-Instrument aus Tchechien, eine Obertonflöte.
So sieht sie aus. Gebaut wurde sie von Winne Clement aus Belgien.
As I said, the focus is on the fujara, a folk instrument from the Czech Republic, a overtone flute.

The piece, so to speak, clears the way with the help of time and space: in order to listen in peace, but also to look at what? The right note, to recognise it, respectively the blue sky, or better still, not to forget it.
Das Stück schaufelt quasi mithilfe von Zeit und Raum den Weg frei: um in Ruhe zu hören, aber auch zu schauen, was?: den richtigen Ton, ihn zu erkennen respektive den blauen Himmel, oder besser, ihn nicht zu vergessen.

Veils of Sky is a sort of metaphor for obstacles in front of truth, truth beyond appearances. So all photos will do since they all represent objects aka appearances.
Veils of Sky ist eine Art Metapher für die Hindernisse vor der Wahrheit, der Wahrheit jenseits von Erscheinungen. Also tun´s eigentlich alle Photos, denn sie alle respräsentieren ja Objekte aka Erscheinungen.

I hope this single note remains audible for a long time, even if it has already physically vanished, faded away.
ich hoffe, dieser eine Ton bleibt lange hörbar, auch wenn er physikalisch schon verschwunden, verklungen ist.
